Review:
I had originally decided not to get and review this movie, simply because I always thought it was soooo stupid as a kid. However, bowing to popular opinion and numerous requests, I decided to finally get a copy and watch it again. All right, I admit -- it's not as bad as I remember, although it's still a very strange movie. The plot, such as it is, centers around aliens from Planet X who tell visiting astronauts that they want to "borrow" Godzilla and Rodan and use them as exterminators. Seems they have this little Ghidrah problem back on the home planet... In exchange, the aliens promise to give earth a "miracle cure" for all earthly diseases. Sounds too good to be true? That's 'cause it is! When, oh when, will people learn? Aliens are just plain evil! Once the aliens have Godzilla, Rodan and Ghidra all under their control, they announce that they are taking over earth. Just to prove that they mean business, they sic the monsters on [where else?] downtown Tokyo. Fortunately, the nerdy boyfriend of the sister of one of the astronauts has invented a little toy which provides the key to stopping the aliens. Hmmmmm... how convenient!
